  • So it seems that one more time Lars handed the mixing engineer a picture of his drums EQ settings.

  • everyone talks about the snare but didn't notice the bass drum suddenly sounds much bigger when hitting the cymbals.

  • You know, I hadn't heard this song since it was getting regular play on MTV and Much Music. So I decided to check it out, having only the most casual interest in Metallica.

I have to ask… What the FUCK is this? James' vocals are garbage here. Rob's bass is meh. The guitars are boring and uninspired. And the drums? Good God, the drums. Look, I love to shit on Lars as much as anyone (I am a child of Napster after all), but this just makes me sad.

Not a surprise I guess, this came out in the decade where Bob Rock decided to just shit on the legacies of himself and so many formerly great bands. He ruined a lot of albums at the turn of the century.

  • Metallica gives murders, rapists and thieves a free concert. Yeah, screw the honest hard-working people who ACTUALLY PAY for their music — and give the scum of the earth a free concert. SMH.

  • I wonder if the inmates received reduced sentences for having to live through that.

  • Eh, unpopular opinion but I appreciate it for what it is.
The track could have drums that don't sound like trash cans and people would still shit on it because it's not "old-school Metallica" style.

  • That fucking snare …..lol what a joke of an album…I'd rather listen to Van Halen 3
