Travel restriction updates: When will holidays around the world resume?

The Government’s (very slight) easing of lockdown from today means people in England “may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people outside your household.” This means day trips are possible, but proper holidays will have to wait.

A bigger change might be possible on July 4, just in time for the summer holidays, when the hospitality industry might be able to start operating again, assuming that acceptable social distancing measures can be introduced. It may be that some sights and leisure attractions could also open by then. For more advice, see our guide
