Metallica's Kirk Hammett At Guitar Center

36

Kirk Hammett shared some pretty cool stuff with us in the Guitar Center San Francisco store. History, influences, and even a timeless riff he wrote when he was 16 that is still just as evil and epic to this day.

  • Metallica is amazing live… and they have produced some absolute masterpieces of music. People don't understand that music is art

  • Kirk wrote Creeping Death when he was 16. Let that sink in.

  • Can somebody please tell me the riff that he was playing in the beginning

  • Their first four albums was the Metallica oldschool fans loved them for. Self title ablum was good, but not great. The rest just decayed their sound even more. Jason Newsted did right by leaving the band. St. Anger was nothing but crap. Pure cancer. And the rest I can care less. Stopped listening to them after hearing St. Anger.

  • To the kirk haters: keep making fun of him, while he enjoys his rightfully earned life and $14 million dollar house and continues to laugh at your bank account… while his family will be set for generations to come

  • A legend like kirk deserves credit and not hate. Yes he is perhaps past his peak and some of his live solos struggle a bit at times. But he is 53 and his fingers probably aren't as nimble as they were. But this is still the guy that has given us monster solos in the unforgiven, fade to black, blackened (which was a constant mix and swapping of two solos), I could go in but won't. So stop hating on him just because he may be past his peak. Just enjoy the stuff he has done in the past and don't split hairs with how technical he is or isn't, and if so and so if better or not. He is a legend due to the past regardless.
