METALLICA – Russian Girl Reacts to CREEPING DEATH (Moscow 1991)

23

Lyrics

Slaves!
Hebrews born to serve
To the pharaoh
Heed!
To his every word
Live in fear
Faith!
Of the unknown one
The deliverer
Wait!
Something must be done
Four hundred years
So let it be written
So let it be done
I’m sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first-born pharaoh son
I’m creeping death
Now!
Let my people go
Land of Goshen
Go!
I will be with thee
Bush of fire
Blood!
Running red and strong
Down the Nile
Plague!
Darkness three days long
Hail to fire
So let it be written
So let it be done
I’m sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first-born pharaoh son
I’m creeping death
Die by my hand
I creep across the land
Killing first-born man
Die by my hand
I creep across the land
Killing first born man
I!
Rule the midnight air
The destroyer
Born!
I shall soon be there
Deadly mass
I!
Creep the steps and floor
Final darkness
Blood!
Lambs blood painted door
I shall pass
So let it be written
So let it be done
I’m sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first-born pharaoh son
I’m creeping death

  • hey..sweetie..1st of all..the thought of anything bad happening to you, truly fills me with dread…hope your hubby is aware of your concerns on this issue…2nd..this song has a theme similar to the others in the ride the lightning album because that was their mindset at the time…you are absolutely right..i too stopped listening to them after the black album, but rediscovered them recently and was a fool, stopping in the first place…finally, only a damn crazy, utterly moronic fool would not pay attention to someone as adorable, intellectually discriminating, independently thoughtful, incredibly beautiful fan like yourself…you deserve only the best..take care

  • 1.6 million people there. Unfortunately there were 500 rapes and 50 murders while Metallica was playing. Very sad.

  • You should give a listen to Swedish band Evergrey, particularly the song Recreation Day. As a matter of fact they have a ton of great songs.

  • I usually turn down the volume during KHs live solos. Lol

  • This song is normally requested because of the size of the crowd. It is a song based off the bible story of the passover where moses leads the hebrews out of Egypt. And fyi, this song was long before the black album came out.

  • I think the black album was the album that they first started making crap

  • Metallica was a Heavy Metal band that got ZERO airplay on the radio in the US. So they got their following from doing concerts and their fans spreading information about them. The black album is widely considered a sell-out album. They left behind their Heavy Metal roots for to be more commercial. It was also around this time that it came out how badly they treated their new bassist Jason Newstead, who had the impossible job of replacing Cliff Burton. Then Lars Ulrich decided to go after Napster for sharing their music even though he openly used Napster to download other bands music.

  • These people are trolls and don’t understand that great bands have to vary their style. Why Metallica is the greatest because their variety is amazing,

  • As everyone else likely said, this is an adaptation of the biblical book of Exodus. The sound quality is probably affecting how much of the melody you're picking up, this video is more an exposition of the spectacle 🙂
Dynamic energy, yes… the band having a million people literally wrapped around their finger and loving it.
People who are telling you the albums after Black are bad are just… some people will personally dislike something and demand that nobody else can like it. Self-centered thinkers.

  • Well, it's near Moscow… Tushino airfield, then a military airbase. You're probably more well versed in the history of this than I can ever be, but a few months earlier was the attempted military coup against Gorbachev when he was on vacation. The youth of the city help stop that, and as a reward the Monsters of Rock concert series was given a venue to reward them. This is a month or so before the Soviet Union dissolved, which is why the security forces are still uniformed; they're still Soviet army. The concert was free, which is why the crowd estimates ranged from 500,000 to 1,600,000…. so many people arrived that the tickets soon became useless and they just threw open the 'doors' and let everyone in.

  • i agree with you. lots of people tend to think that once a band becomes commercially viable, they say the band sold out. they dont think that a band can evolve, and thats what happened, even if you dont like some, or all of the new albums, its no reason to put down the new music
