  • This is the first Beatles song I ever heard. I never knew that it was sang by The Beatles though!

  • Just a curious fact, this is the first recorded version of "Love me do" and the drummer is not Ringo, but a guy named Andy White. The version recorded with Ringo on the drums is the one in the "Please Please Me" album.

  • I dunno. I detect slight but significant differences. I'd hafta see a voice overlay before I'd believe this is 100% authentic Beatle juice.

  • and George Harrison doesn't get a credit in the description

  • let's face it- it needed the tambourine. Thank God for Ringo's percussion, and his being a good sport. The tambourine version is the hit sound.

  • I’m only 16 but dang it’s going to be hard for another band to top everything the Beatles did. Beach boys got close but weren’t as good.

  • I love John's bluesy Harmonica! It conjures up scenes of Northern England and the working class neighborhoods. Man, this song is so nostalgic and takes me back to early 1964 and the magical time that it was! To be six years old and in my room listening to this great music while sifting through Beatles bubblegum cards and dreaming about meeting them and knowing them, well, you just had live through it. It was simply wonderful!!!

  • Fun fact, the original master tape to this version of Love Me Do is long since been missing. In order to preserve it, EMI had to source an original mono 45 in the 1980s to make a new master from a collector who had a mint condition copy.

  • Song 1 of listening to the complete Beatles playlist. It’s going to be a long long journey, and some of us may get lost along the way, but we must move forward.
